Other than Julian Assange; yet another 'good' example of extra-legal harassment is Guancheng, a Chinese human rights activist, self-taught lawyer and target of what is routinely described as "extra-legal harassment" by local Chinese authorities.  After serving years in prison on trumped-up charges, he was "released" to his home - only to find himself imprisoned there by armed thugs, working for the state.  

These thugs not only put him on de-facto house arrest, but they also prevented his free contact with outside parties, attacked his family members, and otherwise made his life miserable - for more than two years.  This spring, he "escaped" (from what was, theoretically, freedom) and has been engaged in high-stakes negotiations to save himself and his family from further state-sponsored, extra-legal harassment. > go to: http://67.225.133.110/~gbpprorg/2600/Extra-Legal_Harrassment.html 

  

And this kind of treatment is very similar to what John experienced over the last decade or so; corrupt cops and their co-conspirators targeting Johns' residence (often in the middle of the night > see links below) in a lame and ultimately unsuccessful attempt to intimidate and/or scare John into submission. Fortunately; at this point the only people frightened into submission are the cowardly idiots who targeted John for so many years.

Furthermore; civil rights statutes apply to all races and/or classes. ADDING INSULT TO INJURY WAY BEYOND BOGUS POLICE CLAIMS OF JOHNS' NONEXISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS; THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT ALSO HAD THE GALL TO SEND JOHN A BILL FOR THEIR OFFICIAL NEGLIGENCE -- A UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT WHO DID NOTHING TO HELP JOHN FOR ALMOST A DECADE; EVEN AFTER CONTACTING THE F.B.I. SEVERAL TIMES!?!

EXTRA-LEGAL TAX HARASSMENT (continued): As John continues his financial free-fall from the many years of police/F.B.I. negligence and/or corruption he has experienced; the I.R.S. and C.F.T.B. continues sending overinflated "class-based financial discrimination" tax notices demanding money John clearly does not owe or have; and this is yet another form of extra-legal harassment and/or civil rights violation that needs to be addressed as well.
