GENDER EQUALITY FOR SOME?

 

John was attacked several times WITH NO ARRESTS MADE before finally fighting back and getting bloodied up in the process. Does someone have a problem with this? If a woman fought back the way John did; she would have been glorified and the story would have made the news. Is this equality?

1) "The U.N. says that about 35 percent of women worldwide have experienced sexual or physical violence. One hundred and twenty million girls under 20 — about 1 in 10 — have been subjected to sexual violence. And the report says discriminatory attitudes and social norms in many countries make all this difficult to prevent..."

A) RESPONSE: But! As long as violence between men is allowed to occur (as a result of testosterone and/or the need to fill prison cells and military boots by inculcating violence into men through various media sources with a vested interest in war and/or prison profits etc) women will continue to be negatively affected by this unrestrained, government-sanctioned, violent male behavior.

2) "A woman suing a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm for sex discrimination testified Monday that when she told a senior firm partner about sexual harassment by a co-worker, he advised her not to “make a mountain out of a molehill...”

B) RESPONSE: But! Ellen Pao was never physically/violently attacked several times like John was (with video evidence of the various attacks); so why is Ellen Paos' story making it into the news; while Johns' gender discrimination story is being all but ignored? Could this be due to government-sanctioned gender discrimination that favors the rights of women over men, even though what happened to John was FAR WORSE than anything Ellen Pao ever experienced?

And the other side is this [adding yet another layer of government-sanctioned discrimination]; if what happened to John happened to a cop; arrests would have inevitably been made. Note: While the United Nations and/or the United States of America seeks equality between men and women; men continue not only attacking each other (at war etc) but also women in their midst as well. Therefore; until the fight between men is stopped -- women will continue to be violated in the process. It's really that simple.
