AND AFTER...

APPLE GOES TO WAR AGAINST THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENT WITH THE BLESSINGS OF THE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS FULL OF ALLEGED ENVIRONMENTAL DEMOCRATS!?!

NOTE: This post was added to show the overall lack of consideration for the natural environment within local governments and/or corporations here in the Santa Clara valley. This is yet another example of a pattern of misleading, negligent and perhaps even illegal behavior and/or corruption over time (on the part of local publications as well; like the San Jose Mercury News and/or the San Francisco Chronicle; both of which ignored this story altogether). > SEE ALSO: THE CITY OF SANTA CLARA + 1333 LAWRENCE EXPRESSWAY + THE MARINA PLAYA APARTMENTS ETC = LAX ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ETChttp://addendumblog1.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-city-of-santa-clara-1333-lawrence.html + APPLE IS PRETENDING TO BE GREENhttp://lreblogger.blogspot.com/2014/04/apple-is-pretending-to-be-green.html

OTHER SENSITIVE PARCELS SLATED FOR DEVELOPMENT: The parcels shown below are among the last remaining open space parcels of land within the Santa Clara valley; parcels teeming with wildlife; yet still slated for development...

1) ULISTAC NATURE AREA IN SANTA CLARA -- New soccer fields are needed due to parking concerns for the new 49ers stadium; but instead of building outwards on this particular parcel; the City of Santa Clara should instead redevelop another parcel (in other words; another parcel elsewhere without wildlife) to build upwards with a multi-story/multi-usage athletic field structure built (and/or 'pancaked') much like parking garages. This could be used by various athletic teams; and this idea could be very useful in inner city zones where open space is limited...
2) SANTA CLARA TENNIS AND GOLF CLUB -- slated for development by interests connected to the San Francisco 49ers (Joe Montana etc); this is yet another last remaining open space parcel in the Santa Clara valley...
3) MCCARTHY RANCH IN MILPITAS -- When a Cisco development was built on this particular land parcel back during the 1990s; Burrowing Owls were found to be living there. Land was mitigated for these animals; but has any follow-up occurred regarding their continued presence on this land now slated for possible development?
4) BERING AND BROKAW IN SAN JOSE -- Yet another last remaining parcel of land teeming with wildlife...

WILDLIFE CORRIDORS: A bill offered by ex-Democratic Assembly Member Ira Ruskin of Redwood City requires the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) to identify all important Wildlife Corridors -- areas that connect important conservation lands for wildlife -- in California. > go to: http://likroper.com/AB_2785.html +  REST IN PEACE IRA RUSKIN > @ http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/Former-Assemblyman-and-Redwood-City-Mayor-Ira-5601971.php > NOTE: There are more reasons than one to preserve certain outstanding historic (and/or aesthetic) aspects of the "Valley of Heart's Delight" (during the 1950s the Santa Clara valley was actually considered to be an important agricultural zone); and one of those reasons based in law is the protection of important wildlife corridors that exist within the last remnants of open land on the floor of the Santa Clara valley (fragmented habitat can still serve a variety of species). Adding to this; much of these development proposals were created before the current 2014 drought situation; therefore water restrictions may decide their outcomes.

  1. How did environmental activism come to be treated as a terrorist crime? I think the most important thing I found out in my research is that all of this was actually created by the industries that are being protested. In the mid-1980s, these corporations got together and created a new word called “eco-terrorist” — because at the time, these protest movements were growing very quickly and effectively, and they had widespread public support. There clearly was a concern that unless public opinion shifted, there’d be a really big problem on their hands > http://blog.ted.com/2014/01/31/will-potter-on-of-treating-environmentalists-like-terrorists/
